-VERSE 1
An angry crowd had gathered, that day they brought her forth.
Her penalty for sin would bring her death.
In their scheme to trap the Savior, with His words of compromise
They were unprepared for what He did and said.
He stooped down and with His finger, wrote something in the dirt.
Followed by a statement so profound.
He said," Let he that is without sin cast the first stone at this woman."
She heard as many stones dropped to the ground.

-CHORUS
There is a time for our opinions and our philosophies.
A time to speak the things that we hold true.
A place for us to stand our ground and never move an inch.
Unshaken by the circumstance in view.
But there will come a day, when there is nothing we can say.
We must step aside, get out of mercy's way.

-BRIDGE
Lord, help me never be a hindrance to a desperate soul in need.
But use me Lord and give me words to say.
If I can't look through eyes of empathy, please help me hold my peace.
And just step aside out of mercy's way.

-CHORUS
There is a time for our opinions and our philosophies.
A time to speak the things that we hold true.
A place for us to stand our ground and never move an inch.
Unshaken by the circumstance in view.
But there will come a day, when there is nothing we can say.
We must step aside, get out of mercy's way.

-TAG
But there will come a day, when there is nothing we can say.
We must just step aside, get out of mercy's way.
Out of mercy's way.
Out of mercy's way
Out of mercy's way.
Out of mercy's way.
