Kenny Bishop Recognized by Kentucky House of Reresentatives
FRANKFORT, KY As one of it's first official acts of
the 2007 legislative session, The House of Representatives
of the Commonwealth of Kentucky recognized Daywind Records
recording artist Kenny Bishop for his contributions to Southern
Gospel music. A certificate of honor and recognition was presented
by State Representative Ted Edmonds and House Speaker Jody
Richards.
"I'm
certainly thrilled with the distinction these great representatives
of the people have given me," Bishop said. "Representative
Edmonds, Speaker Richards and all of the others who serve
in such trusted positions in this body have honored me. I
am very humbled and sincerely grateful."
The
certificate cites Bishop's first solo release, his past involvement
with his father Kenneth and brother Mark, his current position
as executive director of Kentucky's Governor's Mansion and
his recent Grammy nomination.

The
House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
hereby recognizes and honors
Kenny Bishop
for the tremendous honor and pride that he brings
to this great Commonwealth by his wealth of talent
and continued contributions to the grand traditions
of Southern Gospel music. Having released his first
solo Southern Gospel album in the spring of 2006 after
signing with Daywind Records label in the fall of
2005, this former member--with his father and brother--
of the popular Southern Gospel trio, The Bishops,
and current executive director of the Kentucky Governor's
Mansion, is applauded upon having been named a well
deserving nominee for a prestigious Grammy Award in
the category of Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass
Gospel Album. Inasmuch as Kenny Bishop's grace-filled
music continues to serve as a profound expression
of his faith and an inspiration to his loyal and appreciative
audiences, the members of this august body are delighted
to join Representative Ted "Teddy" Edmonds
in commending him on this most recent and notable
acheivment and in extending to him sincere best wishes
that he may enjoy continued prosperity and success.
Done
at Frankfort, Kentucky, this eleventh day of January,
in the year
two thousand and seven.
