Kenny Bishop Honored by the Kentucky State Senate

FRANKFORT, KY— Kenny Bishop was recently honored and recognized by the Kentucky State Senate for his contribution to the performing arts in the state. Bishop received a citation of recognition that was sponsored on the motion of senators Alice Forgy Kerr and Tom Jensen. The document cited Bishops recent Grammy nomination and two Dove Award nominations, as well as his latest self-titled release on Daywind Records.

The Kentucky House of Representatives honored Bishop with a similar recognition back in January.

"I have several friends who serve in Kentucky's upper and lower legislative chambers," Bishop said. "They often express their appreciation and congratulations to me personally, and I am grateful. But to be recognized officially, and to have the certificate presented on the floor of the senate chamber is a special honor indeed. I am very moved and honored."

Bishop also opened the morning session of the state senate by singing the Lord's Prayer for the invocation.
