KENNY BISHOP FEATURED IN CHRISTIAN VOICE MAGAZINE
LEXINGTON, KY - Christian recording artist Kenny
Bishop continues to share his story, this time in the March
2008 edition of Christian Voice Magazine. The article is a
candid first person account of Bishop's fears, failures and
eventually renewal of faith that led him back to the stage
and into the recording studio.
"I
was quiet for a long time," Bishop says. "Thinking
selfishly, I didn't see a real need to be so vulnerable and
open about the very sensitive things in my life. Then I learned
that my own experience was not so uncommon, even among the
'brethren.' Why not just be honest and say what needs to be
said? The results so far have been remarkable."
In
2001 the Bishops, the father and sons trio that Bishop traveled
and performed with for nearly twenty years, retired from touring
and recording. Since then he has gone from rebellion and anger
to faith and a fresh understanding of God's nature and grace.
"John
Lanier is the executive editor of Christian Voice Magazine.
He's been a dear friend for a lot of years, and has a clear
understanding of the importance of being real humans on the
stage," said Bishop. "He mentioned to me that he
would like to share my story with his readers, and asked for
permission to take to the magazine what I had been sharing
on my web site I was thrilled and extremely grateful for the
opportunity."
Christian
Voice Magazine was first published in 2006. The monthly publication
provides coverage of the latest news and major events within
the Christian music industry and also looks beyond the music,
into the lives of the artists as they deal with real-life
issues that define and give testimony to their faith. The
March 2008 issue also features invterviews with Mark Lowry,
the McKameys and more.
